URBAN GREEN UP
URBAN GreenUP is a project funded under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. Its objective is the development, application and replication of Renaturing Urban Plans in a number of European and non-European partner cities with the aim to mitigate the effects of climate change, improve air quality and water management, as well as to increase the sustainability of our cities through innovative nature-based solutions.
The Liverpool city partcipting to URBAn Greenup project and creating new green corridors across the city that will help to tackle environmental issues like air quality, lack of biodiversity and potential flooding. The project has been awarded nearly £3.5 million of Horizon 2020 European funding.
Partners in the project include Liverpool City Council, The Mersey Forest, the University of Liverpool and organisations in Valladolid (Spain) and Izmir (Turkey).
